A fried green aromatic tea, which is light on the palate with a refreshing roasted flavor. It holds very little astringency. Houjicha has a clear red appearance and is low in caffeine and catechin antioxidants. Bancha and Kukicha are used to make Houjicha grades. Houjicha is fried at high temperature, altering the leaf colors tints from green to red. Produced under ISO 14001 Certified Environmental Management Standards.
- Boil water and let cool to 190F/87C
- Steep for 1-2 minutes (longer=stronger)
